It, it can be found on the Jubilee Green, Grantham Road, Bottesford (just opposite from the skate park), we'd love to see your photos of the display, send them in to us on our social media pages. |

We kicked off the new year in the great outdoors with some gardening. The Vale of Belvoir Club set about building the foundations of a new 'Bee Friendly' garden, with help from the Poacher Line Team with East Midlands Trains, and the Bee Friendly Trust. More work is going to be carried out in March - get in touch for more information and dates if you'd like to help out. Lions Veronica and Phil presented the cheques to Dove Cottage Hospice and Rainbows Childrens' Hospice, two annually supported organisations of the much loved Santa Sleigh in December. Dove Cottage were presented with £2500, along with an additional £350 which was generously raised by the Foresters Morrismen at the Vale of Belvoir Lions Annual Boxing Day Duck Race. Rainbows Hospice for Children & Young People were presented with £2500 to help them continue the important work they do in our community. Grantham R.O.C.K (Rescue of Cats & Kittens) were presented with a donation of £150, which will go towards vets bills, food and providing care for the rescued animals. Thank you all again for giving so generously and helping out along the way. |

December
Its been a busy year of fundraising and community events for the Vale of Belvoir Lions Club and December was no exception.
During the first two weeks of the month, Santa and his enthusiastic team of helpers marched through the Vale with Santa's Sleigh. Through wind, rain and a little snow we are excited to announce a record breaking total fundraising of £7041.43. Santa and his team continued their hard work to break another record of the most raised in one night, finally breaking the £1000 target.
This phenomenal fundraising wouldn't be possible without all the hard work and time given up by our generous volunteers, our Club would like to say thank you, and we'll see you next December!
After a well earned rest, we held our annual Duck Race on the River Devon, which raised a total of £1568.36, including £350 raised by the Foresters Morris Men on the day.
Thank you all for your help throughout the year, however big or small, it means a lot to us as we appreciate it greatly.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.

Santa Sleigh: a record-breaking year for the Vale of Belvoir Lions’ newly refurbished Santa Sleigh. Despite having to battle through snow, rain and strong winds, in temperatures that dropped to minus five, together we raise an incredible £6790.29! Funds are divided between Dove Cottage Hospice, Rainbows Hospice and other Lions charities throughout the Vale of Belvoir.
Annual Duck Race: The residents of Bottesford came to join the Lions on a frosty boxing day this year for our Annual Duck Race. We sent 700 yellow rubber ducks down the River Devon to race towards the finish line, herded by two very brave Lions in waders and thermals! Although the river was running slower than usual on the day, patient onlookers enjoyed performances of Morris Men and clog dancers while sipping on mulled wine, until our five speedy winners crossed the finish line just outside St Mary’s Church.
